The Mukhtar Ensemble is a group of musicians who have come together to share the rich musical traditions of the Arab world with a special focus on Iraq. Directed by oud musician and composer Ahmed Mukhtar, the ensemble brings the musical traditions of the land of two rivers to the contemporary stage by rearranging melodies and rhythms from the Iraqi tradition, giving the nostalgic pieces a new lift while staying true to their original sound.
